Brethren, By the time you receive this, we will be at or just past the Grand Lodge session. MW Bro. Jim McWain is passing the torch to RW Bro. Gary Arseneau. Jim is, of course, a member of our lodge so you’ve had a chance to know him. But Bro. Gary has not been in our lodge that often, so perhaps you have not met him as of yet. He was at our Burns Supper in February, indeed giving the Toast to the Lasses, and those of you attending would have met him there. You would also have seen him helping clean up and pack tables away at the end. But that’s the kind of guy he is. I’ve gotten to know Gary pretty well the past year or so, and I can tell you he is a good man, and a fine mason. And he will carry on Jim’s good work in grand style, no doubt adding some of his own initiatives as well. Oh, and did I mention he’s a Middle Chamberlain? No wonder I like him! Looking forward, our Stated Communication on April 12 will include a talk by Brother Tony Giunta on the organ donor awareness initiative. As you can imagine, this is a subject near and dear to his liver. And as one of the brothers I took my degrees with, it’s near and dear to my heart! He’ll provide more information on this, but I wanted to bring special attention to it in hopes you will make a particular effort to come to lodge that night. My cabletow will be taking me out of town/country for the April 26 and May 10 meetings, so my profound apologies for my impending absence. Sitting in the East in my absence, as is their purview, will be Bros. Caolo and Giunta, respectively. Please come and support them. It will be Bro. Giunta’s first time opening and closing lodge, and he may well be taking his proficiency. So let’s have a good, supportive turnout. Enjoy Spring my brothers, as we pretty much have been since January. What a year! And what a year thus far for Temple Lodge 65. Thank you to everyone that has shown me such support and attended our meetings and events. Brothers, I looking forward to seeing you all in lodge whenever you can make it.
